He’s studied with bansuri master Hariprasad Chaurasia and perhaps raga concepts influenced the music here. Tzur is quite an original player/composer, with few obvious influences in the jazz canon. […] Hershkovits and Tzur are clearly simpatico and the pianist is out front on the disc as much as the saxophonist. Klampanis and American drummer Johnathan Blake are charged with listening carefully, lest the spell be broken. It never is.

Blue Train is a studio album by John Coltrane, released in 1958 on Blue Note Records, catalogue BLP 1577. Recorded at the Van Gelder Studio in Hackensack, New Jersey. It is the only Blue Note recording by Coltrane as session leader. It has been certified a gold record by the RIAA.

Right in time for Nils Landgren's 60th birthday celebration the most elaborate project of his unparalleled carrer will be published. Together with conductor and arranger Vince Mendoza they build a memorial for a friend of Jazz and great composer of the 20th century, Leonard Bernstein.
As the title intimates, "Last Spring" is a revisiting of spring. It is not an exulting, whirling awakening, but a sustained, minimalistic meditation, oriented strongly towards the details, the variance of the melodies, the breadth and beauty of the sound. It is based on the most perfect interaction possible: Wesseltoft's soft piano daubs melt like wax into the pizzicato melodies that Kraggerud entices out of his 1744 Guarneri violin, his Harald Lund viola and his unique six-stringed viola Concorda.
