Kashkashian's intense focus, superb craftsmanship and explosive virtuosity are brought to bear on Bartók's final work, on one of Kurtág's early pieces, and on 'Replica', an important new composition written especially for her by Peter Eötvös.

Kashkashian continues to fill out her discography with the important established viola repertoire as well as interesting new or rarely heard works. With important composers like Eötvös writing music for her, she is also doing a great service for the viola as solo instrument. In addition to the Kurtág and Eötvös pieces, the performance of the Bartók Concerto should be considered among the best modern renditions of the piece by a soloist at the top of her game.
