The Wall is the eleventh studio album by English rock band Pink Floyd, released in 1979 through Harvest and Columbia Records. Conceived during the In The Flesh tour, recording spanned nearly a year, from December 1978 to November 1979, and took place in France, England, New York, and Los Angeles. It was produced by Bob Ezrin, who helped to refine the concept and bridge tensions during recording. Some of the outtakes from the recording sessions were used on the band's next album, The Final Cut (1983).

Recorded in 1975 at the Koln Opera House and released the same year, this disc has, along with its revelatory music, some attendant cultural baggage that is unfair in one sense: Every pot-smoking and dazed and confused college kid -- and a few of the more sophisticated ones in high school -- owned this as one of the truly classic jazz records, along with Bitches Brew, Kind of Blue, Take Five, A Love Supreme, and something by Grover Washington, Jr. Such is cultural miscegenation. It also gets unfairly blamed for creating George Winston, but that's another story.

AllMusic : Anyone familiar with the industrial metal band's dark sense of irony should take one look at the title of Rammstein's 2009 album LIEBE IST FÜR ALLE DA ("Love Is There for Everyone") and conclude that this one is a mean monster. Combining the tightness and punch of their 1998 album, Sehnsucht, with the musicianship and elaborate textures of their later work, LIEBE IST is a grand achievement, skillfully dividing its time between razor sharp metal rockers like "B********," or the opening theme song "Rammlied" and nostalgic cabaret pieces that conjure the spirits of Weil and Brecht at a goth club.

Sputnik: If Rammstein were to never make another album again, this would be a good way to checkout.
