When synth-pop trailblazers Depeche Mode put out their darkly hued seventh album, Violator, a quarter of a century ago, it was an event. The Beatles may have had Beatlemania, but the group had their own bloodthirsty zombie horde willing to crush anything standing between them and their favorite band. One day after the record came out, a mob of more than 10,000 fans shut down a small section of Los Angeles surrounding a record store where the group was doing a signing. The Depeche Mode faithful pushed on the shop’s windows so forcefully that the glass wobbled and ultimately cost the city some $25,000 to disperse 130 policemen in riot gear to subdue the band’s unruly disciples. Chronologie is the eleventh studio album by French electronic musician and composer Jean-Michel Jarre, and was released on Disques Dreyfus in 1993. It is inspired by Stephen Hawking's book A Brief History of Time. "Chronologie Part 4" and "Chronologie Part 5" started out as a composition for the Swiss watch company Swatch.

Speak & Spell is the debut studio album by English electronic music band Depeche Mode. It was released on 5 October 1981 by Mute Records. It was the band's only album with Vince Clarke, and as a result, is much lighter in tone than their subsequent releases.
